Subject: Resolution of dispute - Final Offer Arbitration with respect to the Telelatino Network discretionary service
This letter is with respect to the application for final offer arbitration (FOA) filed on 25 August 2022 by the Canadian Communication Systems Alliance Inc.concerning the distribution of TLN Media Group Inc.’s discretionary service Telelatino Network.
As indicated in Broadcasting and Telecom Information Bulletin 2019-184, the Commission’s dispute resolution framework prioritizes negotiated settlements and encourages parties to exhaust all related means to resolve outstanding issues in an efficient and effective manner.
Following considerable efforts on the part of the parties and Commission staff, including multiple sessions of mediation, facilitation and negotiation prior to and over the course of the FOA process, we note that the parties signed an affiliation agreement for the Telelatino Network discretionary service on 16 and 17 March 2023.
Commission staff would therefore like to congratulate the parties on arriving at a negotiated solution.
In light of the above, Commission staff considers this file closed and thanks the parties for their collaboration.
Yours sincerely,
Jonathon Greenberg
