On 20 March 2023, TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI) filed a procedural request asking the Commission to extend the submission deadlines in Call for comments – Facilities-based wholesale mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) access tariffs – Considering the inclusion of additional retail market segments, Telecom Notice of Consultation 2023-48, 1 March 2023. TCI requested that the deadlines be extended to 30 June 2023 for the submission of interventions and to 28 July 2023 for the submission of replies.
The Public Interest Advocacy Centre as well as Bell Mobility Inc., Rogers Communications Canada Inc., and Saskatchewan Telecommunications filed letters in support of this request. Quebecor Media Inc., on behalf of Videotron Ltd. opposed the request.
On 30 March 2023, the Commission issued a Secretary General letter, in which it approved TCI’s application in part and granted an additional 45 days to submit interventions and an additional 7 days to submit replies to interventions.
Accordingly, the Commission extends the deadline to submit interventions to 15 May 2023 and the deadline to submit replies to interventions to 8 June 2023.
