The Commission has received applications for final costs from five parties to the proceeding. On 19 April 2022, TELUS Communications Inc. (TELUS) and Rogers Communications Inc. (Rogers) filed their answers to the applications. The replies to TELUS and Rogers answers were to be filed by 29 April 2022.
On 29 April 2022, the Deaf Wireless Canada Committee (DWCC) filed a procedural request for an extension to file their reply to TELUS’ answer. The Commission’s staff extended the deadline to 19 May 2022. On 18 May 2022, DWCC filed a second procedural request. DWCC submitted that it required hourly records from all cost applicants to adequately prepare a reply to TELUS. Thus, DWCC asked the CRTC to direct the other costs applicants to file their hourly records, and that the deadline to reply to TELUS be deferred until then. The Canada Deaf Grassroots Movement, the Canadian Association of the Deaf, and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Coalition opposed DWCC’s procedural request.
On 26 May 2022, DWCC withdrew their procedural request. DWCC indicated it intends to submit a response by end of day 1 June 2022. Commission staff acknowledges receipt of DWCC’s withdrawal of their procedural request. DWCC may file their response to TELUS by 1 June 2022.
