2020-366-1 – Bell Canada request for extension
Dear Madams, Sirs,
In a letter dated 26 April 2021, Commission staff issued a series of requests for information. Parties were given until 7 June 2021 to respond, and until 28 June 2021 to request further responses and/or the public disclosure of information that has been designated confidential.
In letters dated 28 June 2021, Rogers Communications Canada Inc, Québecor Média Inc., and TekSavvy Solutions Inc. filed requests for further responses and disclosure of confidential information from Bell Canada, Saskatchewan Telecommunications and TELUS Communications Inc. Given that the Commission has not set out any timelines for responses to these requests, parties had 10 days to respond pursuant to subsection 33(4) of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure.
The Commission is in receipt of a letter from Bell Canada dated 29 June 2021 requesting an extension of this deadline to 12 July 2021 to account for the Canada Day statutory holiday. Under the circumstances, Commission staff finds that the extension requested is reasonable and would not result in undue delay or prejudice. All parties subject to the requests for further responses and disclosure therefore have until 12 July 2021 to file their responses.
Further processes will be announced via procedural letters and/or updates to the notice at future dates.
