Dear Mr. Thompson,
Commission staff acknowledges receipt of your letter dated 30 April 2021 regarding Northwestel’s response to a request for information issued by Commission staff on 21 January 2021 (the RFI).
In your letter, you advised that Northwestel recently uncovered certain inadvertent errors in the cost models filed in response to the RFI. As a result, you advised that Northwestel’s costing personnel is currently conducting a comprehensive review of all the submitted cost models, and undertakes to submit a revised response to be filed by 12 May 2021.
This proceeding raises important issues for Canadians living in the North and must progress in a timely manner. Nonetheless, it is important to ensure a complete and accurate record. Commission staff also notes that Northwestel was proactive in communicating its errors to the Commission, and has undertaken to conduct a review to correct any further errors and file a revised response.
Under the circumstances, Commission staff considers that Northwestel’s proposal to submit a revised response by 12 May 2021 is reasonable and will not result in undue delay or prejudice.
Accordingly, Northwestel is to file its revised response to the RFI by 12 May 2021. Parties may file comments strictly limited to the new information provided in the revised response to the RFI by 24 May 2021, and Northwestel may file reply comments with respect to its revised response to the RFI by 31 May 2021.
A copy of this letter will be placed on the public record of this proceeding.
