RE: Part 1 application by Bell Canada for permanent Commission approval to allow Bell Companies to continue to block certain fraudulent and scam voice calls.
On 30 October 2020 the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) published Telecom Notice of Consultation 2020-366, Call for comments regarding potential regulatory measures to make access to poles owned by Canadian carriers more efficient (https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/archive/2020/2020-366.htm) where the Commission is inviting all interested persons to file submissions to identify potential regulatory measures to facilitate access to telecommunications pole.
This proceeding is intended to support the Commission’s objective of ensuring that all Canadians have access to high-quality voice services and broadband Internet access services that meet or exceed the universal service objective of at least 50 megabits per second (Mbps) download and 10 Mbps upload, established in Telecom Regulatory Policy 2016-496.
This letter is to advise those who are parties to NoC 2019-406, Call for comments regarding potential barriers to the deployment of broadband-capable networks in underserved areas in Canada, and who may have a particular interest in this consultation, that the deadline for interventions, as identified in NoC 2020-366, is 30 November 2020.
