RE: Bell Aliant, a division of Bell Canada – Withdrawal of Tariff Notice 542 Hospital Patient Telephone Service

Dear Mr. Gauvin:

On 19 March 2020, the Commission received an application from Bell Aliant, a division of Bell Canada, under Tariff Notice 542 proposing revisions to its General Tariff CRTC 21491, Item 348 to introduce a short-term promotion to waive all charges for customers for Hospital Patient Telephone Service.

By letter, dated 19 March 2020, Bell Aliant proposed to withdraw TN 542 in its entirety as it would be more expedient to implement the desired temporary waiver of rates and charges for Hospital Patient Telephone Service using the Commission's rules for forborne promotions for local wireline services as they appear in Decision 2008-41Footnote1.

The Commission had not approved the requested changes on an interim or final basis.

Accordingly, Bell Aliant’s request to withdraw TN 542 is appropriate and TN 542 is considered to be withdrawn.

Sincerely,
