RE: Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2019-57, Review of mobile wireless services – process letter regarding Commissioner of Competition’s request for disclosure of undertakings
Dear Madams, Sirs:
The Commission is in receipt of a procedural request, dated 3 March 2020, submitted on behalf of the Commissioner of Competition (Commissioner). With his request, the Commissioner is seeking disclosure, pursuant to s.39(4)(b) of the Telecommunications Act, of all information filed in confidence in response to CRTC Exhibit 4, issued in 18 February 2020 as part of the proceeding initiated by Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2019-57.
The Commissioner argues that the information sought is relevant to competition issues and that the CRTC has required disclosure of similar information to the Commissioner during earlier phases of the proceeding.
The Commissioner requested that the information be disclosed to him at the same time as it is filed with the Commission.
In order to dispose of this request in a timely manner, parties required to file information in relation to Exhibit 4 may respond to the Commissioner’s request by no later than 9 March 2020. The filing deadline for undertakings remains 10 March 2020. The Commission will make a determination on the Commissioner’s request at a later date.
