RE: Review of mobile wireless services, Telecom Notice of Consultation 2019-57 – Requests for information – Follow up to 15Nov2019 Request for New Information

In a letter dated 15 November 2019, the Commission issued additional requests for information (RFIs) as part of the proceeding initiated by Telecom Notice of Consultation 2019-57. Specifically, in question 101 in Appendix 2 of that letter, Bell Mobility Inc., Bragg Communications Incorporated, Rogers Communications Canada Inc., Saskatchewan Telecommunications, Shaw Telecom Inc, TBayTel, TELUS Communications Inc. Videotron Ltd., and Xplornet Communications Inc., were requested to provide data on a list of prices for all LTE retail mobile wireless Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) plans from 2014-2019 in the format provided in the Excel Attachment.

After examination of the answers provided, Commission staff requires the following clarification: that the number provided in the “# of Subscribers to Plan” column for each plan corresponds to the number of subscribers in the year of the “Launch Date” column. If not, parties are to provide, for each identified plan, the subscriber count for the year of launch using the same format as requested in Question 101, a revised response to the question by 10 March 2020

As set out in section 39 of the Telecommunications Act and in Broadcasting and Telecom Information Bulletin CRTC 2010-961, Procedures for filing confidential information and requesting its disclosure in Commission proceedings, persons may designate certain information as confidential. A person designating information as confidential must provide a detailed explanation on why the designated information is confidential and why its disclosure would not be in the public interest, including why the specific direct harm that would be likely to result from the disclosure would outweigh the public interest in disclosure. Furthermore, a person designating information as confidential must either file an abridged version of the document omitting only the information designated as confidential or provide reasons why an abridged version cannot be filed.

Yours sincerely,
