RE: Bell Canada’s Review & Vary Application of Telecom Decision CRTC 2019-390
Dear Sirs:
On 20 December 2019, Bell Canada filed an application, pursuant to Part 1 of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure and sections 52 and 62 of the Telecommunications Act, to review and vary Telecom Decision CRTC 2019-390 (Decision 2019-390) concerning the routing of Bell Canada’s traffic from Rogers’ network and destined for Bell Canada’s toll-free telephone number customers.
As part of its application, Bell Canada requested a stay of Decision 2019-390 until the Commission has considered Bell Canada’s application, as well as an expedited process in view of the timelines set out in Decision 2019-390 and the expenses Bell Canada will be required to incur in order to comply with that decision.
Commission staff considers that Bell Canada has provided a reasonable explanation as to why an expedited process would be warranted in this instance. Therefore, Rogers and interested persons are to provide responses to this application by 31 January 2020 and Bell Canada’s reply is to be filed by 7 February 2020.
