Re:   Part 1 Application – Request for relief by AFX Communications against Bell Canada  Request for extension

Dear Sir,

On 4 June 2019, AFX Communications inc. (AFX) filed with the Commission the above referenced Part 1 Application, raising issues related to compensation for toll-free calling. On 24 September 2019, Commission staff issued requests for information (RFIs) to Bell Canada.

On 7 October 2019, the Commission received a letter from Bell Canada requesting, due to unexpected events, an extension to the deadline, from 10 October to 17 October 2019, to file its reply comments to the RFIs.

Commission staff is aware of the objections that are associated with requests for extension. However, Commission staff is of the view that, if granted, extending the deadline to file reply comments would, in the present matter, cause negligible prejudice to the parties since the extension would be minimal.

In the interest of developing a more fulsome record for this application, Commission staff considers that the requested extension to the deadline to file reply comments to the RFIs is reasonable.
Accordingly, reply comments must be filed by 17 October 2019.

Sincerely,
