Telecommunications Fees

The Telecommunications Fees Regulations, 2010 (Fees Regulations) provide for the payment of annual telecommunications fees by certain telecommunications service providers, as set out in sections 2 and 3 of the Fees Regulations.
Pursuant to subsection 3(4) of the Fees Regulations, the Commission hereby announces in this public notice that the estimated total telecommunications regulatory costs of the Commission for the 2019-2020 fiscal year (1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020) are $36.454 million.
The annual adjustment amount referred to in subsection 3(5) of the Fees Regulations is $0.024 million for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.
The net billing for the Commission’s telecommunications fees for the 2019-2020 fiscal year, taking into account the adjustment in paragraph 3 above, is $36.478 million. This estimated net billing for the 2019-2020 fiscal year represents a 19.03% increase compared to the amount for the 2018-2019 fiscal year ($30.647 million)^{Footnote 1} attributable to the implementation of the Broadband Fund project management function and to the ratification of collective agreements.
