Re: Sogetel inc. – Implementation of wireless number portability for TELUS Communications Inc.

Dear Sir:

The Commission has received responses from Sogetel Inc. (Sogetel), dated 8 February 2018, following expressions of interest from TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI) to implement wireless number portability (WNP) in the exchanges of Beauceville, Charrette, Lac Etchemin, Saint-Alexis-des-Monts, St-Barnabé, Sainte-Justine, Sainte-Rose, Saint-Ludger, Saint-Odilon-de-Cranbourne, Saint-Paulin, Nicolet, and Saint-Liboire in Quebec. These exchanges are served by Sogetel and are part of the Lac-Etchemin, Saint-Paulin, Nicolet, and St-Liboire local interconnection regions (LIRs).

In its letters, Sogetel indicated that WNP is already available in the Lac-Etchemin and Nicolet LIRs, that no investment is required to implement WNP in the Saint-Paulin and Saint-Liboire LIRs, and that Sogetel would not be filing WNP implementation plans with the Commission in response to TCI’s requests.

Sogetel has proposed a 60-day timeline for implementing WNP in the above-mentioned exchanges. Commission staff considers that the proposed timeline is reasonable and requests that Sogetel notify the Commission when implementation has been completed so that TCI may begin offering its services in these exchanges.

Sincerely,
