RE: Northwestel Inc. Tariff Notice 976: Wholesale Connect Service New Rates and Circuits: Iristel Inc. request for extension to file comments on Northwestel responses to request for informations

Dear Sir:

On 7 February 2018 the Commission received a request from Iristel Inc. to extend the deadline to for the submission of comments with respect to Northwestel Inc. 26 January 2018 responses to request for information (RFI) in the above-cited tariff proceeding. Specifically, Iristel requested a 14-day extension in the deadline for filing those comments due 9 February 2018.

Iristel indicated that it requires this extension because it did not receive the RFI responses from Northwestel due to an apparent error in the email address. On 7 February 2018 Northwestel confirmed that it had inadvertently missed sending out the email to the interested parties.

As a result of this, Iristel submitted that it did not have an opportunity to prepare fulsome and meaningful comments in response to Northwestel’s RFI responses and requested a 14-day extension in the deadline for filing those comments.

In the circumstance, the Commission staff finds it reasonable to extend the filing date from 9 February 2018 to 23 February 2018.

Accordingly, the deadline for parties to file comments is extended to 23 February 2018 and Northwestel may file reply comments by 9 March 2018. Where a document is to be filed or served by a specific date, the document must be received, not merely sent, by that date. Copies of the documents should also be sent to nat.natraj@crtc.gc.ca.

Sincerely,
