Cogeco On Demand – Licence renewal

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the on-demand service Cogeco On Demand from 1 September 2018 to 31 August 2023.
The licensee shall adhere to the standard conditions of licence, expectations and encouragements for on-demand services set out in the appendix to Standard requirements for on-demand services, Broadcasting Regulatory Policy CRTC 2017-138, 10 May 2017, as well as to the conditions of licence set out in the broadcasting licence for the undertaking.
The Commission received a general comment regarding the application from the Shaw Rocket Fund stressing the need for original Canadian content for Canadian youth. The licensee did not reply to the comment.
Because this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and files reports concerning employment equity with the Department of Employment and Social Development, its employment equity practices are not examined by the Commission.
