CBVT-DT Québec – Technical changes
- The Commission approves the application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to change the authorized contours of the television programming undertaking CBVT-DT Québec, Quebec, by increasing the average effective radiated power (ERP) from 103,300 to 128,300 watts and the maximum ERP from 291,000 to 361,700 watts. All other technical parameters will remain unchanged. The Commission received an intervention in support of this application and a comment that does not relate to the technical changes.
- The CBC indicated that the proposed parameters are the technical parameters of the transmitter, as built following CBVT-TV Québec – Technical change, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2011-678, 1 November 2011.
- Pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
- The licensee must implement the technical changes by no later than 30 April 2020. To request an extension, the licensee must submit a written request to the Commission at least 60 days before that date, using the form available on the Commission’s website.
