RE: Bell Canada Part 1 Application for Forbearance from the Regulation of Unbundled Local Loops – Request for extension by Canadian Network Operators Consortium Inc.
Dear Sir:
In a letter dated 15 August 2017, the Canadian Network Operators Consortium Inc. (CNOC) requested that the deadline for filing interventions related to the above-referenced application be extended from 25 August 2017 to 29 September 2017. CNOC cited the following reasons for the deadline extension request:
- Bell Canada’s application is lengthy and complex;
- The industry’s resources are severely constrained by a very busy regulatory schedule in August and September of 2017;
- No prejudice would be suffered by Bell Canada as a result of the granting of the proposed extension.
In a letter dated 16 August 2017, Bell Canada informed the Commission that it does not oppose CNOC’s deadline extension request.
Commission staff is of the view that the above-requested extension would be reasonable under the circumstances. Therefore, interested parties may file interventions in respect of the above-referenced application no later than 29 September 2017. As a result of approving this extension request, Bell Canada’s deadline to reply to any interventions filed is extended to 10 October 2017.
