2017-92Footnote1 – Change to the filing date for responses to requests for information

Dear Madam, Sir:

On 18 April 2017, the Commission received a request from the Independent Telecommunications Providers Association (ITPA) to extend the filing deadlines set out in Telecom Notice of Consultation 2017-92. The ITPA requested that each of the deadlines be moved three weeks such that initial interventions would be filed with the Commission on 15 June 2017 and the record of the proceeding would close on 29 September 2017.

By letter dated 28 April 2017, Bell Canada (Bell) supported the ITPA’s request. In addition, Bell requested that a similar extension be granted to the filing date for the responses to the requests for informationFootnote2. By letter dated 1 May 2017, Saskatchewan Telecommunications supported Bell’s proposal to extend the filing date for the responses to requests for information.

In Telecom Notice of Consultation 2017-92-1, issued today, the Commission approved the ITPA’s request and set out revised filing dates for the proceeding. Accordingly, Commission staff considers it appropriate that the deadline for filing responses to the requests for information with the Commission be extended to 15 June 2017.
