Sirs,

Re:  Application to Review and Vary Telecom Order CRTC 2017-25 (File # 8662-C88-201701227 )

In Telecom Order CRTC 2017-25 (Order 2017-25), the Commission directed that the award of costs in the amount $2735.23 be paid forthwith by TELUS ($1,422.32) and Rogers ($1,312.91). This amount represented 50% of CNIB’s total costs and was the portion related to its telecommunications submissions. In the above noted review and vary application, CNIB informed the Commission that the Broadcasting Participation Fund had awarded it its full costs less $58.22 related to its HST rebate (i.e. $5,541.25) and suggested that the full amount awarded by the Commission be paid to the Broadcasting Participation Fund.

Commission staff considers that, in the unique circumstances of this case, it would be both efficient and consistent with the Commission’s determination for TELUS and Rogers to pay the award of costs set out in Order 2017-25 directly to the Broadcasting Participation Fund on behalf of the CNIB.

For inquiries with respect to how to effect payment to the Broadcasting Participation Fund, I would recommend contacting its Cost Officer at the following:

Upon receipt of confirmation from TELUS and Rogers that such payments will be made, Commission staff will consider the above noted Review and Vary application closed.

Thank you,
