RE:  Telecom Decision CRTC 2014-527, Bell Canada and Bell Mobility Inc. – Further proposals for the use of deferral account funds to improve access to telecommunications services for persons with disabilities (Decision 2014-527) – Request for Extension

Dear Mr. MacQuarrie:

The Commission received a letter dated 23 March 2017 from Bell Canada (Bell) requesting an extension to the deadline for the filing of its annual report related to its deferral account funded accessibility initiatives to 28 April 2017.

More specifically, Bell submitted that due to an extensive volume of costing-related work that its costing team is currently engaged in, it has not been able to prepare the cost study required to file as part of its annual accessibility status report. Bell further notes that no party will be adversely affected by the delay in filing the report, as the report will address the progress that has been made in the last year on the accessibility initiatives at issue.

Commission staff considers that Bell’s request for an extension is reasonable under the circumstances. Accordingly, Bell may file its annual report related to its deferral account funded initiatives no later than 28 April 2017.

Yours sincerely,

Nanao Kachi
