RE:  Part 1 application by Iristel Inc. requesting implementation of local competition in the exchange of Aylmer, Ontario – Comments filed by Independent Telecommunications Providers Association

 Dear Mr. Bishay:

On 25 January 2017, the Commission received comments in which the Independent Telecommunications Providers Association (ITPA) corrected Iristel Inc.’s (Iristel’s) interpretation of its position regarding Iristel’s Part 1 application. Commission staff notes that the ITPA’s comments were filed outside the process set out in the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure governing Part 1 applications.

Commission staff considers that ITPA’s comments were directly responsive to matters included in Iristel’s application and will create a more fulsome record. Consequently, the comments have been added to the record of this proceeding.

In light of the above, Iristel may provide additional reply comments, if any, related specifically to ITPA’s 25 January 2017 comments by 9 February 2017.

Sincerely,
