Subject: Petitions to the Governor-in-Council-Broadcasting Decisions related to the renewal of the television licences for the large English- and French-language ownership groups.

In Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2016-225 (the 2016-225 process), the Commission announced that it would consider the renewal of the television licences for the large English- and French-language ownership groups.

Several petitions pertaining to the Decisions related to the 2016-225 process have been submitted to the Governor-in-Council, further to section 28(1) of the Broadcasting Act, asking that these decisions be set aside or referred back to the Commission for reconsideration and hearing.

The Commission is making available a copy of the petitions on the CRTC website and will also provide paper copies of the petitions on request.

Yours sincerely,
