Various television and radio programming undertakings – Administrative renewals

  1. The Commission renews the broadcasting licences for the television and radio programming undertakings set out in Appendices 1 and 2 to this decision from 1 September 2018 to 31 August 2019, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licences. The Commission also extends the distribution orders for the television programming undertakings CBC News Network, ICI RDI and ICI ARTV until 31 August 2019.
  2. The term of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s (CBC) current President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will end in December 2017, and a number of positions on the CBC’s board of directors are now or will be vacant shortly. This decision will allow the next President and CEO of the CBC and its new board of directors to have a material impact on the CBC’s licence renewal plans.
  3. This decision does not dispose of any issue that may arise with respect to the renewal of these licences. The Commission will consider the renewal of these licences at a later date, and interested persons will have an opportunity to comment at the appropriate time.

Secretary General

This decision is to be appended to each licence.
