RE: Application for costs award with respect to the participation of the First Mile Connectivity Consortium in Telecom Notice of Consultation 2015-134, Review of basic telecommunications services

Dear Mr. McMahon,

On 13 July 2016, the Commission received an application for costs from the First Mile Connectivity Consortium (FMCC) with respect to its participation in Telecom Notice of Consultation 2015-134, Review of basic telecommunications services (the proceeding).

The purpose of this letter is to request additional information from the FMCC regarding its application for costs.

  1. Financial Assistance

    Please confirm whether or not the FMCC has or will receive financial assistance in connection with its participation in the proceeding. This does not include general fundraising revenues or other support. If the FMCC received or will receive financial assistance in connection with its participation in the proceeding, please indicate the amount received.

  2. Hourly Records

    Pursuant to paragraph 16 of the Guidelines for the Assessment of Costs, as set out in Telecom Regulatory Policy 2010-963, if the applicant is claiming costs which are to be calculated on an hourly basis, all persons for whom work is being so claimed must keep hourly records which may be requested by the Commission. Further, the hourly records must contain at least the following information: the date on which the work was done, the amount of time spent on the work and a brief description of that work.

    Please provide the hourly records/time sheets to support all the hours claimed in the FMCC’s costs application.

Filing Information with the Commission

The requested information is to be filed with the Commission by 12 September 2016. Any other interested party may file a response by 19 September 2016. The FMCC may reply to any comments no later than 26 September 2016

A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding.
