RE:  Northwestel – 2015 Progress Report and 2016 Modernization Plan Update – Request For Information - Abridged

Dear Mr. Yeulett:

On 31 March 2016, the Commission received Northwestel’s Network Modernization progress report for 2015 and Modernization Plan Update for 2016-2017, pursuant to the Commission’s directives in Northwestel Inc. – Regulatory Framework, Modernization Plan, and related matters, Telecom Regulatory Policy 2013-711, 18 December 2013.
In the Modernization Plan update for 2016-2017, information provided by Northwestel indicates that a number of challenges remain with respect to the following:

In order to better understand Northwestel’s plan to address these challenges, Commission staff considers that additional information is required. Northwestel is therefore requested to provide comprehensive answers, including any supporting information, to the attached request for information.

As set out in Procedures for filing confidential information and requesting its disclosure in Commission proceedings, Broadcasting and Telecom Information Bulletin 2010-961, 23 December 2010, parties may designate certain information as confidential. Should any information be designated as confidential, Northwestel must provide an abridged version of the document involved for the public record, accompanied by an explanation as to how the information removed is confidential.

Responses are to be filed with the Commission, by 5 July 2016. Documents are to be received, not merely sent, by the date indicated.
