Requests for information

  1. With respect to the 89 Northern communities identified in the Satellite Inquiry Report:Footnote 2
    1. Indicate which of the satellite-dependent communities Xplornet intends to serve using high-throughput satellite technology, and the date that the company expects service to be available in each of these communities; and
    2. Indicate the rates, terms and conditions of the service offerings that Xplornet intends to make available (i.e. speeds, data allowances, price, overage charges).
  2. Provide maps of the company’s current and planned coverage areas and location of spot beams.
  3. Are there areas where Xplornet cannot provide service due to terrain considerations (e.g., obstructions in the line of sight to the satellite or tower)?  
  4. Indicate the company’s total current and planned Ka-band capacity and the timeline for making the planned Ka-band capacity operational.
  5. Indicate whether the company has purchased, or plans to purchase, capacity in other bands (e.g. Ku-band). Provide details of these plans.
  6. In areas where you currently use Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), does the backhaul network use satellite? If satellite is used for backhaul, identify the areas of the country or regions.
  7. Elaborate on the company’s future plans for FWA backhaul.
  8. Indicate the quality of broadband Internet and voice services (in terms of latency, jitter, and packet loss) currently provided over the company’s satellite and FWA networks.
