The Commission renews the broadcasting licences for the television networks, specialty services, television stations (and transmitters, where applicable), satellite-to-cable programming undertakings and video-on-demand programming undertakings owned by English- and French-language large private ownership groups set out in Appendix 1 to this decision from 1 September 2016 to 31 August 2017, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licences.

In addition, the Commission renews the broadcasting licences for the independently owned specialty services, television stations (and transmitters, where applicable), satellite-to-cable programming undertakings, the community television station and video-on-demand programming undertakings set out in Appendix 2 to this decision from 1 September 2016 to 31 August 2018, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licences.

This decision does not dispose of any issue that may arise with respect to the renewal of these licences. The Commission will consider the renewal of these licences at a later date, and interested persons will have an opportunity to comment at the appropriate time.
