Application 2015-1192-3

CHRN Montréal – Technical change

  1. The Commission approves the application by Radio Humsafar Inc. to change the authorized contours of the radio programming undertaking CHRN MontréalFootnote 1 by relocating its transmitter site. All other technical parameters will remain unchanged. The Commission did not receive any interventions regarding this application.
  2. The licensee stated that this change was necessary since its engineering team had found after various studies and tests that the original transmitter site was no longer viable, which is why the station is not yet in operation.
  3. The Commission reminds the applicant that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, no licence may be issued until the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
  4. The station's transmitter must be operational with implemented technical changes at the earliest possible date and in any event no later than 24 months from the date of this decision, unless a request for an extension of time is approved by the Commission before 9 February 2018. In order to ensure that such a request is processed in a timely manner, it should be submitted in writing at least 60 days before that date.

Secretary General

*This decision is to be appended to the licence.
