Renaming of Now Mango as Now Entertainment Channel on the List of non-Canadian programming services and stations authorized for distribution
- In Addition of Now Mango to the List of non-Canadian programming services authorized for distribution, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2013-32, 31 January 2013, the Commission added Now Mango to the List of non-Canadian programming services and stations authorized for distribution (the list). Now Mango is a general interest Mandarin- (90%) and Cantonese-language (10%) service that provides variety shows, entertainment and information programs and lifestyle, cooking and travelling tips. Its target audience is Chinese Canadians and its programming is sourced from Hong Kong.
- In a letter dated 29 March 2016, the service provider, PCCW Media Limited, informed the Commission through its Canadian representative, Fairchild Television Ltd., that its service Now Mango had changed its name to Now Entertainment Channel, effective 1 February 2015, and confirmed that the nature of service would remain unchanged. Accordingly, the Commission amends the list to reflect this name change. The revised list can be found on the Commission’s website at www.crtc.gc.ca, by clicking on “TV & Radio,” “Programming” and “Access to programs on TV that aren’t Canadian,” and may be obtained in hard copy on request.
