Penalty: $20,000
Pursuant to section 72.07 of the Telecommunications Act, S.C. 1993, c. 38 (the Act), the undersigned has issued this Notice of Violation finding 9217-2220 Québec Inc. (doing business as Scentral Cleaning Services) to have committed the following violations contrary to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission’s (CRTC’s) Unsolicited Telecommunications Rules (the Rules) made under section 41 of the Act:
Between 4 December 2012 to 29 August 2014, voice telemarketing telecommunications were made by 9217-2220 Québec Inc. (doing business as Scentral Cleaning Services) resulting in violations of the following Rules: Part II, section 4 for initiating telemarketing telecommunications to consumers whose telephone numbers were registered on the National Do Not Call List (DNCL); Part II, section 6 of the Rules for initating telemarketing telecommunications during a time when 9217-2220 Québec Inc. (doing business as Scentral Cleaning Services) was not subscribed to the National Do Not Call List; and Part III section 2 for initiating telemarketing telecommunications while not being registered with, and having provided information to the National DNCL operator.
Pursuant to section 72.01 of the Act, the undersigned has determined that the total penalty for the violations identified above is $20,000.
The penalty of $20,000 must be paid by 9217-2220 Québec Inc. (doing business as Scentral Cleaning Services) to “The Receiver General for Canada” in accordance with subsection 72.09(3) of the Act.
