RE: 2014 Quality of service reports
Dear Madam/Sir:
In Regulatory framework for the small incumbent telephone companies, Decision CRTC 2001‑756, 14 December 2001, the Commission found it appropriate for small incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs) with less than 25,000 network access services to report to the Commission, on 31 March of each year starting in 2002, the following information for the previous calendar year:
- the number of customers to whom service was not provided within 10 days from the date of the customer's request;
- the total of initial out-of-service trouble reports not cleared within 24 hours;
- the number of customers who reported a trouble with their service;
- the number of customers who reported that their listing in the white pages was either omitted or erroneous; and
- the number and nature of written and verbal complaints addressed to officers and/or department heads of the telephone company and/or to the Commission.
The Commission reminded small ILECs of their obligations regarding quality of service reporting in Regulatory framework for the small incumbent local exchange carriers and related matters, Telecom Regulatory Policy CRTC 2013-160, 28 March 2013.
Commission staff notes that as of 23 July 2015 the Commission has not received reports for the year 2014 from Bruce Telecom, Cochrane Telecom Services, La Cie de Téléphone de Courcelles Inc., La Compagnie de Téléphone de Lambton Inc., Ontera, or La Compagnie de Téléphone Upton Inc.
These companies are to file their 2014 reports with the Commission no later than 31 July 2015. In the future, the Commission expects all small ILECs to file their annual reports in compliance with the 31 March deadline set in Decision CRTC 2001‑756.
Sincerely,
