RE: Request for disbursement of funds for video relay service from the National Contribution Fund

Dear Mr. Steele:

In Telecom Decision 2014-665, the Commission approved $2.6 million in funding for video relay service (VRS) for the 2015 calendar year. The Commission indicated that disbursement is to be made in 12 equal monthly installments which would commence once it was satisfied that the Canadian Administrator of VRS (CAV) Inc. has met the conditions set out in Telecom Regulatory Policy 2014-659.

The Commission has determined that CAV Inc. has met all of the requirements set out in Telecom Regulatory Policy 2014-659. The Commission therefore directs the Central Fund Administrator (CFA) to begin making the monthly VRS funding payments for 2015. Since the 12 equal monthly installments apply for the 2015 calendar year, the CFA is also directed to make the necessary retroactive payments to cover the calendar months back to January 2015.
