Re: Procedural request regarding “Local Programming Data” posted on the CRTC’swebsite in relation to Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2015-421
The Commission is in receipt of a letter dated 14 October 2015 from the Forum for Research and Policy in Communications (FRPC) requesting that additional information be made available as a part of the Commission’s review of Local and Community Programming, outlined in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2015-421 (BNC 2015-421). In particular, FRPC asked the Commission to publish:
- Copy of the CRTC’s 9 April 2015 request for information, as sent to broadcasters;
- Names of the broadcasters to which the request was sent;
- Names of the broadcasters that provided data in response to the request; and
- Call signs of the 86 stations, in each of the small, medium and large categories.
The Commission notes that it has already released, since the reception of FRPC’s letter, a copy of its 9 April 2015 and 18 September 2015 requests for information. They were both placed on the public record of BNC 2015-421.
With respect to the three other elements of FRPC’s request, the Commission is placing, under the Local Programming Data link of the related documents of BNC 2015-421, a series of tables providing the requested information to all interested parties.
Sincerely,
John Traversy
Secretary General
