Re: Procedural request regarding “Local Programming Data” posted on the CRTC’swebsite in relation to Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2015-421

The Commission is in receipt of a letter dated 14 October 2015 from the Forum for Research and Policy in Communications (FRPC) requesting that additional information be made available as a part of the Commission’s review of Local and Community Programming, outlined in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2015-421 (BNC 2015-421).  In particular, FRPC asked the Commission to publish:

  1. Copy of the CRTC’s 9 April 2015 request for information, as sent to broadcasters;
  2. Names of the broadcasters to which the request was sent;
  3. Names of the broadcasters that provided data in response to the request; and
  4. Call signs of the 86 stations, in each of the small, medium and large categories.

The Commission notes that it has already released, since the reception of FRPC’s letter, a copy of its 9 April 2015 and 18 September 2015 requests for information.  They were both placed on the public record of BNC 2015-421.

With respect to the three other elements of FRPC’s request, the Commission is placing, under the Local Programming Data link of the related documents of BNC 2015-421, a series of tables providing the requested information to all interested parties.
