- The Commission approves the applications by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to change the authorized contours of CBHB-FM and CBH-FM-2 Mulgrave, transmitters for the English-language radio programming undertakings CBHA-FM and CBH-FM Halifax, and the authorized contours of CBAF-FM-11 Mulgrave, a transmitter for the French-language radio programming undertaking CBAF-FM-5 Halifax, as follows:
- CBHB-FM: the circularly polarized antenna will be replaced by an elliptically polarized antenna, the antenna’s radiation pattern will change from non-directional to directional, the average effective radiated power (ERP) will decrease from 93,400 to 40,180 watts (maximum ERP increasing from 93,400 to 100,000 watts) and the effective height of antenna above average terrain (EHAAT) will increase from 164.6 to 192.4 metres;

- CBAF-FM-11: the horizontally polarized antenna will be replaced by an elliptically polarized antenna, the antenna’s radiation pattern will change from non-directional to directional, the average ERP will decrease from 93,400 to 39,170 watts (maximum ERP will increase from 93,400 to 100,000 watts) and the EHAAT will increase from 164.6 to 192.4 metres.
- The licensee indicated that these changes were necessary to reduce the operating costs of the Radio One, Radio 2 and ICI Radio-Canada Première services, and to improve the quality of their signal in Mulgrave.
- The Commission did not receive any interventions regarding these applications.
- Pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, these authorities will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that broadcasting certificates will be issued.
