Renaming of Headlines Today Channel as India Today on the List of non-Canadian programming services and stations authorized for distribution
- In Addition of Headlines Today Channel to the lists of eligible satellite services for distribution on a digital basis, Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2006-148, 21 November 2006, the Commission added Headlines Today Channel to the List of non-Canadian programming services and stations authorized for distribution (the List). Headlines Today Channel is a non-Canadian English-language headline news service based in India. It operates on a 30-minute wheel that runs 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, and provides a unique perspective on India and world events.
- In a letter dated 2 June 2015, the service provider, TV Today Network Ltd., informed the Commission through its Canadian representative, Ethnic Channels Group Limited, that its service Headlines Today Channel had changed its name to India Today, effective 23 May 2015. Accordingly, the Commission amends the List to reflect this name change. The revised List can be found on the Commission’s website at www.crtc.gc.ca, by clicking on “TV & Radio” and selecting “Programming.” It may also be obtained in hard copy on request.
