Re: Follow-up to Telecom Regulatory Policy CRTC 2013-160 – Revised Direct Connect Charge by SILECs

Dear Madam/Sir:

By a letter, dated 7 November 2013, the Commission granted Small Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers (“SILECs”) listed in the Appendix to this letter an extension of the filing date set out in Telecom Regulatory Policy 2013-60 for company-specific Phase II cost studies for Direct Connect (DC) toll interconnection rates until the Commission issued its determinations on ExeculinkTelecommunicationsInc.’s (Execulink) Tariff Notice (TN) 72.

The Commission issued its determinations on Execulink’s TN 72 in Telecom Order CRTC 2014-499 – Revision to Direct Connect service rate, dated 26 September 2014; however, on 24 October 2014, the Commission received a review and vary from Execulink of some determinations made in that Order.

In light of the review and vary application by Execulink referred to above, the Commission received a request on 27 October 2014 from the Canadian Independent Telephone Company Joint Task Force (JTF) to suspend the process by which SILECs are to file their revised DC charge as originally directed by the Commission in Telecom Regulatory Policy 2013-160.

In the circumstance, the request for suspension by JTF is reasonable. Accordingly, the date for the filing of SILECs’ revised DC charge supported by cost studies is extended until 30 days following the Commission determinations on Execulink’s review and vary application.

Sincerely,

Original signed by
