RE: Tariff Notice 603 – Support Structure Service

Dear Madam:

On 26 March 2014, the Commission received from TELUS Communications Company (TCC) Tariff Notice 602 (TN 602), in which the company proposed amendments to section 4.12 of its General Tariff entitled Support Structure Service.

Commission staff requests that TCC answer the attached questions by 5 September 2014, and serve a copy to the parties who participated in the proceeding.

Interested parties may file comments with respect to the responses to these questions no later than 12 September 2014, serving a copy to the parties who participated in the proceeding. TCC will have until 19 September 2014 to file its reply to the comments.

Where a document is to be filed or served by a specific date, the document must be actually received, not merely sent, by that date.

Questions for TCC

Please refer to the proposed tariff pages in TN 603.

  1. Refer to paragraph (o), section 4.12.04 – Access approval requirements, where it is written "[TRANSLATION] If notice of one or more subscriber connections or strand equipment additions is required, that notice must be given at least
    30 calendar days before the connections in question are completed."
    1. Explain, with supporting rationale, why a licensee must give the company notice at least 30 days before adding strand equipment.
    2. Confirm that no charge or penalty will be imposed (now or in the future) on a licensee that fails to provide the company with notice regarding the addition of strand equipment.
