RE: Tariff Notice 299 – Removal of Call Director service, and Tariff Notice 300 – Removal of a Toll Restrictor service option
Dear Sir:
On 31 July 2014, the Commission received applications by SaskTel, under Tariff Notices 299 and 300 (TN 299 & TN 300), in which the company proposed the removal of Call Director, a SmartTouch Service, and the Toll Restrictor Type 4 service option. The company submitted that its applications were Group B retail tariff filings as described in Approval mechanisms for retail and CLEC tariffs, as clarified in a Commission letter dated 19 December 2008. This approval mechanismshas since been simplified and issued asApproval processes for tariff applications and intercarrier agreements, Telecom Information Bulletin CRTC 2010-455, 5 July 2010, as amended from time to time, (Information Bulletin 2010-455).
Commission staff considers that the applications do not meet the definition of a Group B retail tariff filing as described in Information Bulletin 2010-455 because they request the destandardization/withdrawal of services. For efficiency, the Commission will process these applications as Destandardization/Withdrawal tariff filings rather than close the files and require the company to re-file new applications.
Accordingly, the applications will follow the procedures described in Information Bulletin 2010-455 for applications for the destandardization and/or withdrawal of tariffed services, which include the following deadlines:
- Interested parties may file interventions within 30 business days of the filing date of the applications; and
- The applicant may file reply comments within 10 business days of the deadline for filing interventions.
Sincerely,
