Re: Tariff Notice 917 – Special Services Tariff: Yukon Emergency Response Auto Select Service

Dear Sir:

On 6 August 2014, the Commission received an application from Northwestel Inc. (Northwestel), under Tariff Notice 917 (TN 917), in which the company proposed to introduce an Emergency Response Auto Select service at the request of the Yukon Government. Northwestel indicated that it filed TN 917 in conjunction with a Part 1 application filed by the Yukon Government on 28 July 2014. The proposed service would provide callers within all communities of the Yukon Territory – excluding Whitehorse, where basic 9-1-1 service is available – with access to an interactive response menu directing calls to 9-1-1 to an appropriate emergency response agency for a community. The company indicated that its application is a Group B tariff filing.

Commission staff is continuing its analysis of both the TN 917 and Part 1 applications.

Consequently, this application, along with any associated subsequent revisions, will not be approved on an interim basis on the 15th calendar day following receipt.

Sincerely,
