ReReview of wholesale services and associated policies, Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2013-551 – Requests for an extension to deadline

Dear Madams/Sirs:

Commission staff is in receipt of a letter from Bell Canada dated 6 August 2014 requesting that the timeframe for replying to the Commission’s 31 July 2014 interrogatories be extended from 29 August 2014 to 23 September 2014, and that the dates for the associated deficiency and confidentiality process be extended as well. Several other parties filed letters in support of Bell Canada’s request, citing the complexity of the questions posed by the Commission, as well as the summer holiday period, as reasons why additional time is necessary to provide fulsome responses.

Commission staff recognizes the concerns of parties over the timeframe. However, Commission staff is concerned about the need for the record to be completed prior to the final reply stage, and the fact that the proceeding schedule might be compromised with an extension of three weeks. Consequently, Commission staff has determined that an extension of two weeks would be appropriate in the circumstances.

Accordingly, the amended process and associated dates are as follows:

The process and dates associated with requests for information issued by parties remain the same as those set out in the 30 June 2014 procedural letter.

Should you have any questions regarding the above matter, please contact Philippe Kent at 819-953-4057.

Sincerely,
