RE: Review of wholesale mobile wireless services, Telecom Notice of Consultation 2014-761 – Requests to maintain the confidential treatment of certain information
By letter dated 3 July 2014, the Commission directed certain Canadian wireless carriers to provide, on the public record of the above-noted proceeding, information related to roaming, tower and site sharing and other wholesale wireless services (the Disclosure Ruling). This information was to be filed by 7 July 2014.
Bell Mobility Inc. (Bell Mobility) advised the Commission, by letter dated 7 July 2014, that the company intended to file an application to review, rescind and vary the Commission's Disclosure Ruling and to stay that ruling insofar as it pertains to responses to requests for information Bell Mobility(CRTC)3Mar14-11 and 12. By letter dated 9 July 2014, Bell Mobility filed this application, specifically requesting that the responses to the requests for information Bell Mobility(CRTC)3Mar14-11(a) and (d) and Bell Mobility(CRTC)3Mar14-12(a) and (c) remain confidential.
By letter also dated 7 July 2014, TELUS Communications Company (TELUS) advised the Commission that, in light of Bell Mobility’s intention to file its application, it was not filing for the public record its responses to these requests for information pending the outcome of Bell Mobility’s application. However, by letter dated 11 July 2014, TELUS stated that it would be filing, by 14 July 2014, an application seeking a stay and a review and variance of the Commission’s Disclosure Ruling for the responses to requests for information TELUS(CRTC)3Mar14-11 and 12.
By letters also dated 7 July 2014, the following companies advised the Commission that, in light of Bell Mobility’s intention to file its application, they would not be filing for the public record their responses to the requests for information pending the outcome of Bell Mobility’s application: Télébec, Société en commandite (Télébec); NorthernTel, Limited Partnership (NorthernTel); KMTS; Quebecor Media Inc. on behalf of Vidéotron G.P. (Quebecor); and Bragg Communications Inc., carrying on business as Eastlink (Bragg).
The Commission’s Disclosure Ruling required that the information in question be filed on the public record by 7 July 2014. Télébec, NorthernTel, KMTS, Quebecor and Bragg are therefore requested to file, by close of business on 15 July 2014, all information to be provided pursuant to the Disclosure Ruling, or an application that the Commission review and vary as well as stay the relevant determinations in the Disclosure Ruling.
A letter detailing further process regarding the applications will be issued shortly.
Yours sincerely,
