Re: Questions to wireless service providers (WSPs) concerning wireless accessibility – Request for an extension to 17 March 2014
Dear Mr. Abbott:
We are writing in response to your letter dated 19 February 2014 that requested on behalf of Bell Aliant, Bell Mobility Inc. (including its brands Virginmobile and Solo), MTS, NorthernTel, Quebecor, Télébec and TELUS (the Companies) a 2-week extension (17 March 2014) for filing responses to a staff letter dated 28 January 2014 that requested information concerning accessible mobile telecommunications. Your letter states that this extension is required given the number of other submissions due in late February and early March 2014 that require the same resources within each of the Companies.
Commission staff notes that the “Wireless Code Accessibility Reports” are due on 3 March 2014, also within the same timeframe (letter dated 4 February 2014). Commission staff is prepared to offer flexibility in the due date for the “Wireless Code Accessibility Reports” instead and the 28 February 2014 due date for the Companies’ responses for accessible mobile telecommunications will be maintained.
Accordingly, staff denies the above extension request, but instead extends the due date for the Wireless Code Accessibility Reports to 14 March 2014.
Yours sincerely,
