RE: Cogeco Cable Inc. Tariff Notices 42 and 42A – Request to file cost study

Dear Sirs,

The Commission is in receipt of a letter, dated 21 January 2014, from the Canadian Network Operators Consortium Inc. (CNOC), in which CNOC requested Cogeco Cable Inc. (Cogeco) to file a cost study in support of TN 42 and 42A by no later than 20 February 2014, being 30 days from the date of interim approval of the proposed tariffs. In addition, CNOC requested an extension to the date for filing an intervention to 30 days from the date Cogeco files its cost study.

The Commission is also in receipt of a letter, dated 22 January 2014, from Cogeco, in which Cogeco submitted that its regulatory resources are currently fully deployed on other projects or temporarily unavailable. Cogeco therefore proposed to file the required cost study in support of TN 42 and 42A by the end of April 2014 at the latest. Should its engineer return to work earlier than planned, Cogeco stated that it would inform the Commission and file the cost study 30 days from the engineering resource’s return to work.

In the circumstances, Commission staff considers Cogeco’s proposal to be appropriate. Accordingly, Cogeco is requested to file a cost study in support of TN 42 and 42A by 30 April 2014 at the latest. Parties and other interested persons may file interventions by 30 May 2014 or within 30 days following the date Cogeco files its cost study.

Sincerely,
