Re: Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2014-426 – Notice of hearing – 15 October 2014 - Gatineau, Quebec

This letter is further to various interventions in this proceeding requesting that the Commission move the hearing from Gatineau, Quebec to British Columbia.

The Commission notes that those parties who have indicated a desire to appear at the hearing to speak to the matters before the Commission will be given an opportunity to participate from the Commission’s Vancouver office by videoconference, or alternatively, via Skype, using their own device from the location of their choice.  The hearings group will be in contact with these individuals to make arrangements.

With respect to those interveners who indicated a desire to attend the hearing if it were moved to British Columbia, the Commission notes that a live audio feed will be available on the Commission’s website and interested parties are welcome to tune in to listen to the proceedings as they happen.

However, the Commission is also cognizant of the time difference between Gatineau and Vancouver.  Accordingly, the Commission has decided to begin the hearing at 11:00 am Eastern Standard Time, in order to provide maximum opportunity for those wishing to listen to the hearing to do so.   An amendment to the Notice of Consultation has been issued today advising the public of this time change.

Sincerely,

(Original signed by John Traversy)

John Traversy
Secretary General
