RE: Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2014-190, Let’s Talk TV

Dear Mr. Bibic:

In Notice of Consultation CRTC 2014-190, the Commission initiated a proceeding regarding future developments in television and possible approaches for a revised framework for the television system.

In order to pursue its analysis, the Commission requests that for each of your conventional stations, you provide the following information using the attached spreadsheet:

  1. For the 2012 and 2013 broadcast year, the costs and revenues associated with the production of local programming, broken down between “local news” and “other types of local programming”;
  2. For all non-news programs, a detailed listing of all original local programs produced during the 2012 and 2013 broadcast year, the duration of each program, the original broadcast date, and the number of times repeated during the year (if applicable)
  3. The total number of employees (average full time equivalents) allocated to local programming and production, as well as total salaries of employees allocated to local programming in broadcast year 2012-2013.
  4. The annual cost of maintaining over-the-air transmission facilities for your station(s) and the number of transmitters in service

Responses to these interrogatories are to be filed with the Commission by 1 August 2014. Please file confidential and abridged versions of the requested information, as this letter and any subsequent correspondence will be added to the public record of the above-noted proceeding.

Yours truly,
