Re : Clarification to the Commission letter dated 7 May 2014 – Response to Applicant’s undertakings – Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2014-26
Mr. Law:
The purpose of this letter is to provide clarification to a statement that was included in the Commission letter dated 7 May 2014. In that letter, the Commission informed Unifor that the additional reply comments in its letter dated 22 April 2014 would not be taken into consideration in its deliberation regarding the proceeding that was announced in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2014-26. However, Commission staff notes that Unifor’s letter contained its final comments as well as a number of requests relating to the procedural fairness of the proceeding.
Commission staff wishes to clarify that the Commission will take into consideration in its deliberation regarding this proceeding Unifor’s final comments contained in its letter dated 22 April 2014, with the exception of the following two requests that were addressed by the Commission in a letter dated 7 May 2014:
- Unifor considers that Rogers’ final reply is “improper” as set out in section 40(d) of the CRTC Rules of Practice and Procedure; and
- The Commission should reconvene the hearing to clarify and discuss the impact of Rogers’ revised abridged financial projections for the City television stations submitted at the reply phase of the hearing.
We apologize for the confusion this statement may have caused you.
Please note that this letter will be added to the public record of this proceeding.
