Re Request to be allocated a 20 minute presentation at the hearing that was announced in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2014-26

Mr. Law:

This letter is in response to a procedural request that Unifor submitted to the Commission on 3 April 2014. In the procedural letter, Unifor requests that the Commission consider allowing 20 minutes for its presentation at the hearing that was announced in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation CRTC 2014-26, instead of the 10 minutes currently allocated. Unifor indicates that it has a direct stake in both the City/Group licence renewal and the OMNI licence renewal and for that reason, Unifor requests an additional 10 minutes to elaborate on its position.

The Commission has considered Unifor’s request and has decided to maintain its decision to allow a total of 10 minutes for Unifor’s presentation at the hearing. The Commission notes that Unifor wishes to bring specific issues to its attention in the oral phase of this proceeding, however, all appearing interveners were allocated 10 minutes for their presentation and in the interest of fairness, the Commission considers that the same allocation of time should be afforded to Unifor.

Should you have any questions regarding this letter, please do not hesitate to contact Caroline Poirier, Coordinator of the hearing, at the following phone number: 819-994-2700 or at the following e-mail address: caroline.poirier@crtc.gc.ca.

Sincerely,
