Application 2014-0686-9
CBF-FM-10 Sherbrooke – Technical change
- The Commission approves the application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to change the authorized contours of the French-language radio programming undertaking CBF-FM-10 Sherbrooke (ICI Radio-Canada Première) by decreasing the average effective radiated power from 35,000 to 31,400 watts (non-directional antenna), increasing the effective height of antenna above average terrain from 173 to 180.4 metres and making a correction to the geographic coordinates of the antenna site. The Commission did not receive any interventions regarding this application.
- The CBC stated that the replacement of its existing horizontally polarized antenna with a new elliptically polarized antenna would improve the quality of the signal.
- The Commission reminds the licensee that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
