Application 2014-0764-3
CFGB-FM-1 Cartwright - Technical change
- The Commission approves the application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to change the authorized contours of CFGB-FM-1 Cartwright, a transmitter for the English-language radio programming undertaking CFGB-FM Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, by changing the class from LP to A1, by increasing the effective radiated power from 50 to 130 watts and by decreasing the effective height of antenna above average terrain from -5.8 to -7.3 metres. The Commission did not receive any interventions regarding this application.
- The CBC stated that the technical change would improve the quality of the Radio One signal in Cartwright.
- The Commission reminds the licensee that pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
