Application 2014-0449-1
CFCB Corner Brook - Technical change
- The Commission approves the application by Newcap Inc. to change the authorized contours of the English-language AM radio programming undertaking CFCB Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, by increasing the daytime transmitter power from 1,000 to 10,000 watts. All other technical parameters will remain unchanged. The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
- The applicant stated that CFCB’s signal quality has gradually been eroded by increasing interference, and that this amendment will help restore satisfactory service to its listeners.
- The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
